Meet Dianne

Dianne Shorté holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Psychology from Antioch University, and is the author of  "Ladies Operating Very Effectively ("L.O.V.E."):  Finding the Power to Change Your World".  She is also creator/producer of the Love Awards, a Los Angeles community – based awards show that annually honors extraordinary women and men whose lives inspire and impact the world.  Through her organization, Ladies Operating Very Effectively (L.O.V.E.), Dianne has coached and mentored hundreds of women through workshops and seminars in the areas of finance, health/wellness,  relationships, public speaking and life skills training.  With a passion for volunteerism, mentoring and coaching, she has provided volunteer and mentoring services for many non-profit organizations such as, A Place Called Home, City of Angels Ballet, Diamond in the Raw Foundation, Little Miss African American Scholarship pageant, KnowBetter2DoBetter, and Operation HOPE, Inc.  Dianne hones her speaking skills at Fox Talkz and Next Century Toastmaster Clubs, where she has held the title of President and is an Advanced Toastmaster Bronze member. She was the former President of the Board of Directors of Diamond in the RAW ("DITR"), a non-profit organization devoted to empowering at-risk and foster care girls between the ages of 12-18.  In 2018, she was named a Woman of Achievement by the Century City Chamber of Commerce and received the 2018/19 Pink Diamond Award from the Diamond in the RAW Foundation. In 2021 she received the Pearl Jam Women of Empowerment Award.

Dianne is also a professional dancer and has performed with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks' dance team, The Ole Skool Crew.  She has appeared in videos with Janet Jackson, Quincy Jones, Donny Osmond and Howard Hewitt.  As Founder and CEO of Simply Samba Entertainment, she has created a client list of Hollywood’s Who’s Who.  Dianne has made appearances in her capacity as a reigning beauty queen of the following pageants: Miss-Positivity – Miss Black America, Miss East Palo Alto, Miss Kool-KDIA and Mrs. California -  Los Angeles.  In addition, Dianne has enjoyed a career as a legal professional for over 25 years. She is available for speaking engagements and leadership consultations.
